The Newcastle Village Community Hall Board will hold elections for two members at their meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 7 p.m. at the Newcastle Community Hall (Chambers).  If you are a resident of the Village of Newcastle and you are interested in seeking election to this Board for a two-year term, you must register with the office before the meeting.

The Municipal Administrative Centre is undergoing renovations in the New Year to improve customer service and provide more functional space for staff. The second floor of the building will be reconfigured. Existing Orono CIP Proposal
The community improvement plans and grant programs allow for improvements and upgrades to properties and businesses in Clarington’s historic downtowns. The purpose is to make our community a more attractive and functional place to live. The Municipality offers grants to residents and business owners as an incentive to make enhancements to buildings. Notice to the public for Contract Q2017-38 Bowmanville Retaining Wall 
Contract has been awarded to replace the retaining wall fronting Division St. at Church St. in Bowmanville. The parking lot will remain open during construction however some parking spaces may be impacted during construction along with the sidewalk directly adjacent to the parking lot on the west side of Division. Work has commenced and is anticipated to be completed in approximately 3 weeks.
