The Municipality of Clarington is the eastern gateway to the Greater Toronto Area; it is situated along Highway 401 and lies along the shores of Lake Ontario. With a population of 90,000 residents and growing, Clarington offers a blend of city living and rural charm.

Covering over 600 square kilometres, Clarington is home to four urban centres, Courtice, Bowmanville, Newcastle and Orono, and surrounded by 13 rural hamlets. It is one of eight municipalities in the Region of Durham. Clarington has all the modern amenities including shopping, recreation and lifestyle. Residents can also access great healthcare facilities.

We have amazing waterfront trails that meander along Lake Ontario; you can enjoy our Greenbelt protected farmlands, and the natural beauty of the Oak Ridges Moraine.

Clarington is a wonderful place to live and work, offering a wide variety of resources to welcome new residents and help ease the stress of moving.

Find everything you need to know including tax information, garbage pick-up and recycling, recreation activities and more on the Municipality of Clarington website.
