spacer lineThe Municipality of Clarington, Community Service Department is looking for energetic, active and knowledgeable staff to provide leadership and supervision in a safe and enjoyable environment for our Summer Camps. Our summer camps operate July 5 through August 27, 2010.  

The Municipality offers a variety of camp programs including; Sports camp, Trip camp, Eco-camp, Kinder camp, Arts camp, Day camps, Senior Sports camp, Outdoor Adventure camp, Mobile Playground and Leadership camp. As a new initiative we are offering a one week French camp, candidates who are fluent in both French and English should indicate this on their application. spacer lineQualifications

  1. Candidates must be 16 years of age and have recreation program experience or equivalent experience.

  2. Previous work with children or day camp experience would be an asset.

  3. Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certification.

  4. High 5 certificate in Principles of Healthy Child Development.

  5. Successful candidates will be required to complete a training period prior to camp

  6. Strong customer service skills.

Duties

  1. Program planning and implementation of daily camp activities and events.

  2. Daily supervision and interaction with camp participants on-site as well as on field trips.

  3. Ensure the safety of all participants at all times.

  4. Collect accurate attendance figures daily and maintain weekly statistics.

  5. Assist with supervision of volunteers.

  6. Communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, and supervisors.

  7. Other duties as assigned.

A satisfactory, current (within last 180 days), Criminal Records Check (“CPIC”) will be required
at time of interview from a Canadian Police Information Centre.

 
Rate of Pay - $10.57/hr
