CORPORATE SERVICES DEPARTMENT
This amalgamated department provides a range of services to the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington.
Communications & Marketing Division – provides communications services between the Municipality of Clarington and the public at large. Responsibilities include design and production of municipal publications (Community Guides, Visitors Guide), design and maintenance of municipal websites (www.clarington.net, www.clarington-tourism.ca, blooms.clarington.net, www.canhc.ca, www.artofcountryliving.ca, www.bluetogreen.net, docs4.calrington.net ). Tourism promotion and development is a significant part of the work performed by the Communications & Marketing Division. Operation of the Municipality’s Tourism Office (181 Liberty Street South) is a tourism focal point for local operators and visitors.
Human Resources Division – provides recruitment and selection services to municipal departments to ensure that the Municipality employs the “best” qualified and skilled employees to serve the community. In addition to the recruitment function, Human Resources works cooperatively with C.U.P.E. Local 74 and the International Association of Firefighters Local 3139 to negotiate the respective Collective Agreements and to promote the best interests of Municipality of Clarington employees. Information Technology Division – provide leadership in the design, development and maintenance of the Municipality’s information systems and e-technologies. Through the installation and support of the technical infrastructure of the Municipality’s Wide Area Network (WAN), this Division maintains customer relationships with all municipal staff to provide them with the tools required in the performance of their responsibilities to the citizens of this community.
Purchasing Division- provides for the procurement of all supplies and services required by municipal departments. It is the mandate of this Division to purchase requisitioned equipment (including rental/lease), goods and services when required with due regard for price, quality and delivery. This is accomplished by the standardization and competitive bid process.
