FIRE PREVENTION

Fire Prevention Division - provides a variety of programs and services including:


  • Alarm for Life - an initiative whose goal is to visit each home in
    the Municipality to ensure they have working smoke alarms)


  • Fire Prevention Week - October 7-13, 2012
    This year’s theme will be announced by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in June 2012. 

  • JUNIOR FIRE FIGHTER PROGRAM

    The 19th annual Clarington Junior Fire Fighter program will be hosted by Clarington Emergency and Fire Services this summer.  This camp is open to children aged 10 and 11 years who are Clarington residents who have not attended the camp previously.  It provides the children with an opportunity to spend a week at the fire station, learning about fire fighting and fire safety.  There are 5 camps - each one week in duration. The Junior Firefighter Camp starts daily at 8:30 pm sharp and finishes at 3:00 pm. Daily activities include a variety of educational sessions, games and activities. Junior Firefighters should be dressed for the weather each day as the camp continues RAIN OR SHINE. There will be guest  speakers joining us at the camp  each week speaking about various safety topics.  Junior firefighters are to bring a nut-free lunch Monday – Thursday. There will be a one day field trip explained in your acceptance package.  Permission forms will be  forwarded to you and are to be returned on the first day of camp.  Friday is the graduation dayand the ‘Firefighter Challenge’ will be on between the four crews.  Graduation certificates will bepresented at this time and lunch provided for the campers prior to the challenge event. Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to attend the graduation ceremony.
