Services
The Engineering Services Department is involved
in every municipal servicing construction or re-construction
project across the Municipality and manages a municipal
infrastructure budget in excess of $10 million annually.
One of our primary responsibilities is to protect the
public’s interest and safety through approvals,
design review and inspection. We issue building permits,
service and review subdivisions, inspect construction
projects and design and develop parks and trails. We are
also responsible to manage the municipal road network
and plan for and direct traffic.
The Engineering Services Department is comprised of four
key divisions, each with its own responsibilities and
expertise:

Thinking of Purchasing a New Home?
Buying a home is probably the largest and most important
purchase most of us will ever make in our lifetimes.

who have purchased from the same builder. Ask them if
they are satisfied with their home and with their experience
with the builder. The research you do before you buy
will allow you to make the type of informed choice that
will protect you well into the future.
The Municipality strongly encourages prospective purchasers
to visit or contact the Engineering Department and Planning
Services Department staff prior to finalizing their
choice of property. Engineering Services staff can provide
advice on certain lot features such as sloping, retaining
walls, catch basins, drainage easements, noise barriers,
drainage patterns, etc. Planning Staff can advise on
restrictions regarding construction of future sheds,
decks and pools as well as proposed surrounding land
uses.
