| LEGAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT The Municipal Solicitor and Law Clerk provide opinions and advice to staff and Council on planning & development matters (e.g. planning applications, development charges, expropriations, municipal class environmental assessments) and corporate/commercial matters (e.g. contracts for goods, real property and services procured and delivered by the Municipality, personal privacy, freedom of information, municipal elections, and Municipal Act, 2001 powers and responsibilities). The Municipal Solicitor represents the Municipality on matters before all levels of court and administrative boards and tribunals (e.g. Ontario Municipal Board). |
