'Ice Age Mammals'
Bowmanville, ON, January 19th 2013 --- Come and witness one of earth’s most dramatic evolutionary chapters exploring back in time 4 million years.
Clarington Museums and Archives present’s an informative, interactive and inspirational exploration of all things Ice Age including real fossils, mega fauna and lots of fun. The ICE AGE MAMMALS exhibit comes courtesy, in part, from the Canadian Museum of Nature . Visit the last ice age in North America and discover timeless creatures who roamed the plains including three-toed horses, mammoths, and sloths.
The Grand Opening of this exciting exhibit is on Saturday, January 19th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. At 11 AM, a visit from the Bowmanville Zoo must not be missed with two very special guests including Limba the Zoo’s Asian elephant. The day will continue inside the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre with chances to explore the exhibit, slide down our iceberg slide, create ice cold crafts, and enjoy a snow cone with friends and family. Don’t miss this very special opening event at the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre located at 62 Temperance Street from 11am until 2pm. Admission is FREE!
