Volunteer Service Recognition Program
Nomination Criteria

Although the Municipality of Clarington appreciates the efforts of all volunteers, for the purposes of our Volunteer Service Recognition Program, the following criteria must be met to receive recognition:

• The nominating organization shall have an established presence and provide services within the Municipality of Clarington.

• The individual shall be considered a member of or assist with providing the services of the organization/agency whose services benefit the quality of life in Clarington.

• If payment is received for any services provided, the individual shall not qualify for recognition.

• Volunteer must be currently active in their volunteerism.

• Recognition will be provided to each volunteer only once for every five years of continuous volunteerism for the nominating organization/agency.

• Recognition will be provided for 5, 10, 15 and 20+ years of continuous service.

• Special recognition shall be given to those individuals who have contributed 50 years of continuous volunteer service.

• There are no age restrictions to be recognized.  The program shall recognize both youth and adult volunteers.

• For the purposes of this program, youth shall be those individuals under the age of 18 years.
