Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department is currently aware of two more basketball tournaments that were held at the Playground Global facility, 1313 Boundary Road, Oshawa, where seven cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department is urging anyone who attended the 43rd Annual Jane and Finch Classic basketball tournament, held at the Playground Global facility, 1313 Boundary Road, Oshawa, from Aug. 3 to 8, to get tested as soon as possible. The Health Department has been notified of multiple cases of COVID-19 associated with this event and is having difficulty reaching all players and spectators. Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is updating eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to include third doses for individuals most at-risk of serious illness from the virus. Whitby, Ontario – Effective August 14, Durham Region Health Department will begin winding down local COVID-19 vaccine mass immunization clinics, giving community members a few more weeks to get their first or second dose at one of these clinics.
