Temporary closure to Samuel Wilmot Nature Area parking lot and waterfront trail in Newcastle

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising that a road closure will be in place on Cobbledick Road in Newcastle from Service Road to the waterfront trail, including the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area parking lot, beginning August 12 into November.

Notice of Construction on Newcastle Memorial Arena Parking Lot

Starting the week of August 6, 2024, crews will begin rehabilitation work on the Newcastle Memorial Arena parking lot, located at 103 Caroline Street in Newcastle.  

What does the work include? 

• Clearing and trimming plants, trees and shrubs around the boundary of the property 

• Replacing storm sewer infrastructure 

• Removing and replacing existing parking lot asphalt and road base

Temperance Street to close between Church Street and north of King Street in downtown Bowmanville

As part of the Veteran’s Square renovations in downtown Bowmanville, Temperance Street between Church Street and north of Highway 2 is scheduled to close on Saturday, July 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Local businesses will remain open throughout the closure. On-street parking is available on Church Street and King Street and in municipal parking lots.

Prestonvale Road is closed due to damage caused by heavy rain. A hard road closure is located approximately 60 metres north of 1285 Prestonvale Road.

Soft road closures are located at Prestonvale Road and Jack Potts Way and Baseline Road and Cigas Road.

Notice of Roadway Improvements on King Street East, Bowmanville

To improve the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians in Bowmanville, the Municipality of Clarington will be making roadway improvements on a portion of King Street East from Lambert Street to Haines Road.
