Highway 2 closed east of Newcastle

Until further notice, Highway 2 is closed east of the Village of Newcastle. A transport truck has come into contact with the rail bridge crossing the road. Drivers are asked to take an alternate route while the truck is towed away, and the bridge is inspected for damage.

Main Street (Rural Route 17) between Park Street and Centreview Street will be closed from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on August 12 for the Orono Antique Festival.

Newcastle Community Hall 100th Anniversary Road Closures

The following roads will be closed on July 29, 2023, for the Newcastle Community Hall 100th Anniversary:

• King Avenue West, from Mill Street to North Street, will close from 9 a.m. to midnight.
• Mill Street North, from King Avenue East to 70 metres north of King Avenue East, will close from 9 a.m. to midnight.
• King Avenue West, from North Street to Pedwell Street, will close for fireworks from 8:30 p.m. to midnight.

Road closure on Bowmanville Avenue in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure of Bowmanville Avenue in the community of Bowmanville, in the Municipality of Clarington.
