Clarington, Ontario –  Clarington Council has approved the Clarington Corporate Climate Action Plan (CCCAP) to prepare for climate change and reduce the negative impact Municipal service delivery may have on the environment. The CCCAP outlines over one hundred actions the Municipality can take to respond to climate change while adapting services and operations to minimize climate risks. Clarington, Ontario –  Clarington Council has approved the 2021 Municipal Budget, which includes a 2.04 per cent increase on the Clarington portion of the tax levy. That's an increase of $31.01 per year for the average property.

Emergency child care coming soon for school-age children of eligible workers

Whitby, Ontario – Licensed child care programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and centre-based kindergarten programs will remain open during the province-wide shutdown. However, care of school-age children whose parents are not eligible workers is prohibited from January 4 to 8, 2021, as per the Ontario government’s Safer at Home Restrictions. Full-day care programs for school-age children will only be available for eligible workers, at no cost to families.
