Environment Canada issues heat warning starting Friday, July 19

Posted on Thursday July 18, 2019

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Friday, July 19, 2019. Daytime temperatures are expected in the low to mid-30s with afternoon humidex values of 40 degrees or higher. Nighttime temperatures are expected in the low to mid-20s. The heat warning will last through until Sunday, July 21, when a weak cold front is expected.

Stay cool and well hydrated, seek shade when possible. Please check in and look after the most vulnerable residents including the elderly, and those who are chronically ill. Never leave people or pets in the car.

Cool off in one of our air-conditioned facilities, the Clarington Public Library, or beat the heat at one of Clarington’s splash pads.
