Mobile Playground Program

Mobile Playground Program VanIntroducing Families in the Park, our new physically distanced and safe version of our popular Mobile Playground Program. 

Bring your family and join us in the park for a fun craft activity led by Summer Camp staff. All materials are provided. Bring your creativity and be ready to have fun. This free program is geared towards children ages four to 12. However, with parent/guardian assistance, crafts and activities may be adapted for younger children.

Each time slot is available to one household at a time, and pre-registration is required. Registration opens Thursday mornings at 9 a.m. for the following Friday to Thursday time slots.
For example, the first Families in the Park registration opens Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 9 a.m. for time slots from July 12 to July 15, 2021. The next registration date is Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 9 a.m. for time slots from July 16 to 22, 2021.

This is a stay-and-play program. Parents/guardians must accompany their children for the duration of the activity. Washroom facilities are not available at all locations. This activity will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

 Choosing a time slot
Families can register for a time slot for free at www.clarington.net/BeActive. Only one family can register per time slot. Daily time slots include:
  • 9 to 9:40 a.m.

  • 10 to 10:40 a.m.

  • 11 to 11:40 a.m.

  • 1 to 1:40 p.m.

  • 2 to 2:40 p.m. 

  • 3 to 3:40 p.m.

 Important information
  • You may only participate with members of your household.
  • Clarington residents only.
  • One parent/guardian aged 18 or older will register in advance for the family. During checkout, this registrant will enter the names and ages of the child(ren) participating. This program is geared towards children ages four to 12, however with parent/guardian assistance, crafts and activities may be adapted for younger children.
  • At least one parent/guardian aged 18 or older must stay and play for the duration of the activity.
  • Washrooms may not be available at all park locations.
  • Households are limited to booking a maximum of one park visit per week for the duration of the summer.
  • Participants will be required to wear non-medical face masks for the duration of the program, with the exception of children under the age of two.
  • Participants will maintain a distance of two metres or more from staff and others outside of their household.
  • All participants will need to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire before attending the activity. An email will be sent on the day of your park visit with a link to complete the online screening questionnaire for each household/family member who will be attending the program. If any members of the household/family fail the screening, they will all be unable to attend the program.
  • If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and follow the direction of the Durham Region Health Department.
  • The program will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Participants will be notified by phone or email. Please ensure your contact information is up to date.
  • If, for any reason, you should be unable to attend the program, please call 905-623-5728 ext. 2552 as soon as possible to cancel so that we may accommodate another family.
