The Municipality of Clarington contracts out all economic development activities to the Clarington Board of Trade and Office of Economic Development (CBOT). Clarington works closely with the CBOT to promote and support our business community and create more economic growth opportunities in the Municipality.

Clarington is a growing community with a population of more than 104,000 people and counting. Residents live in four urban centres (Courtice, Bowmanville, Newcastle and Orono) and 14 hamlets. The Municipality spans 614 square kilometres, an area equivalent to the size of the City of Toronto.
Clarington is highly accessible and situated alongside Highway 401 to the south, Highway 407 to the north and Highway 35/115 to the east. The Municipality is well connected to the Greater Toronto Area.
