Darlington Refurbishment

The Darlington nuclear station produces about 20 per cent of Ontario's electricity. Ontario Power Generation is working on the mid-life refurbishment of the station, which will extend the life of the station by 30 years.

Construction on the first unit is expected to begin in late 2016. Construction on the other units will begin once the evaluation on the first reactor is complete. Ontario Power Generation hopes to complete the refurbishment project by 2025.
