With the Canada Day long weekend ahead of us, Clarington Fire and Emergency Services and the Municipality want to remind residents about firework safety. We encourage you to join our Celebrate Clarington event at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex on July 1, which will feature a community-wide display of fireworks discharged by professionals. If you choose to have a private fireworks display, please be considerate of your neighbours when discharging fireworks.
In Clarington, By-law No. 2015-047 regulates the discharge and sale of fireworks and states that residents can only discharge fireworks between dusk and 11 p.m. on the three days immediately before and including Canada Day.
Fireworks safety guide
We've created a guide with the dos and don’ts of fireworks safety. Please take the time to review this and stay safe!
Be considerate of your neighbours
Please be aware of your neighbours as not everyone is a fan of fireworks.
Most importantly, be safe. Happy Canada Day!
