Clarington Public Library, Museums, & Archives is excited to kick off the season with programming and events to share holiday cheer throughout the community.
From December 1 to 15, community members can help alleviate hunger in Clarington with Donation Station. Library & Museum locations will be collecting food donations for distribution throughout our community by local food banks: The Clarington East Food Bank, The Salvation Army, and St. Vincent de Paul Society. The program has expanded this year to include hygiene items. “Dear Santa” tags, available at all Library & Museum locations, list items especially in need this season. The list of needed items is also available on the Library’s website.
Until December 12, community members are invited to send a holiday message to the staff, patients, and their families that are working or staying in hospital over the holidays. People can write a message, draw, or colour a picture with one of the printed postcards that are available at Library & Museum locations. Everyone can also share a message by downloading the postcard sheet at home, or submitting their message using an online form. All messages will be digitized for inclusion in a video that Lakeridge Health Bowmanville will share with its staff, patients, and families.
From December 1 to 24, the Library & Museum will be sharing fun virtual programs, stories, crafts, and reads with the Holiday Advent Calendar. Families can visit the Library’s website, social media, or Beanstack app every day to enjoy a holiday activity together, including a very special visit from Mrs. Claus.
Visit the Library & Museum’s holiday programs web page for more information.
