Clarington Bridge in Bowmanville to get a much needed facelift

Clarington June 4, 2015/- Council is moving forward with a contract for the maintenance and enhancement of the bridge on Baseline Road east of Liberty Street.

The total cost of this project will be $919,000, the money is allocated from the Municipalities Rehabilitation and Roadside Protection Accounts. The project involves regular bridge maintenance as well as some enhancements, including a wider sidewalk for pedestrians. The railing is also being replaced with steel tubing that will allow motorists and pedestrians a better view of the Soper Creek Valley.

As part of ongoing services, the Municipality does annual maintenance on roads and bridges to ensure we have the infrastructure to support our growing community.

"This is just another example of your tax dollars put to good use, and a way for us to stay accountable to our residents," said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster.
