Clarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington held a virtual celebration recognizing the substantial contribution volunteers make in our community. The event was held Tuesday night virtually, following all COVID-19 Public Health restrictions.
Among the night’s honorees were 21 local community groups who selected 81 volunteers for recognition. Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster thanked the volunteers for their positive effect on the community: “Volunteers are an integral part of what makes our community great. They help to keep us safe, offer comfort and support when necessary, provide critical services, share skills and lighten our days.”
The organizations honoured include:
“On behalf of the Municipality, our residents and Council, I want to thank each volunteer recognized tonight – you make a significant difference. We thank you for your selfless pursuit in making our community a better place,” added Mayor Foster.
