Clarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington has issued the following statement to thank Queen Elizabeth II for her 70 years of service, marking the Platinum Jubilee.
“On behalf of the entire Clarington Community, we want to thank Her Majesty The Queen for her tireless work, dedication, and sacrifice for the Commonwealth. We join the United Kingdom and all the Commonwealth countries to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee as year-long celebrations culminate in the UK with a four-day Bank Holiday weekend starting today to mark the occasion. The Queen is the first monarch in British history to rule for 70 years. The Queen is the Patron of more than 600 charities and is known for her strong sense of duty and devotion to a life of service. Your Majesty, congratulations on this historic achievement.
