Five cool ways to spend your Snow Day in Clarington

It’s morning, you’ve just woken up to the news that school buses are cancelled. It’s a snow day, along with it is the pressure to find fun things to occupy your kids. Not to worry, Clarington has lots of fun and engaging activities to keep the kids entertained, even on the coldest of days.

  1. Joey’s World Indoor Playground in Bowmanville is now open at their new location, and it’s the perfect spot for kids to burn some of their energy. Joey’s World has a toddler area, rock climbing wall, plus a parent’s lounge with coffee, free Wi-Fi and more.

  2. Visit a branch of the Clarington Public Library, where you can relax with a good book or take part in programs for kids, teens and families. Be sure to check out their Community Pass program where library members can borrow family passes to Jungle Cat World, the Clarington Museums and Archives and public swimming/skating are available for three-day loans.

  4. Warm-up and get creative at Crock A Doodle in Bowmanville. Learn how to paint pottery in their bright studio – they even offer drop-in studio times, no reservations required.

  5. Pack up your swimming gear and head to one of Clarington’s recreation facilities to go for a dip. Clarington’s pools offer recreational swims and lessons, plus some pools have a slide and smaller tot pool. Public swimming is available at Courtice Community Complex, Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre and Diane Hamre Recreation Complex.
