Clarington July 10, 2020/- As we embrace summer and some newly found freedom with many COVID-19 restrictions lifted, Clarington Tourism is encouraging residents to ‘Rediscover Clarington’ and its many gems. The newly-launched ‘Rediscover Clarington’ campaign is a new beginning and a chance to embrace everything our community has to offer.
“In the wake of the largest crisis the tourism industry has faced, its time for us to give back and help our local businesses by shopping locally and visiting our various attractions,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster.
“As many residents stay close to home this summer, ‘Rediscover Clarington’ makes it easy to celebrate Clarington by exploring outdoor activities, supporting farms, and visiting attractions that have recently resumed operations,” added Mayor Foster.
The campaign highlights Clarington’s trails and waterfronts, its many farms and markets, local shopping, rural routes and more. ‘Rediscover Clarington’ gives residents ideas for how they can be tourists in their own hometown and discover some of the local gems they may not have known existed.
“While we ‘Rediscover Clarington,’ don’t forget that physical distancing is still a requirement and that you will need to wear masks or face coverings in indoor spaces. It’s a small inconvenience to keep everyone safe and enjoy Clarington,” said Mayor Foster.
Throughout the summer, Clarington Tourism will feature the ‘Rediscover Clarington’ campaign on its social media. Residents are encouraged to share pictures of their favourite Clarington memories and tag Clarington Tourism on social media with the hashtag #RediscoverClarington for a chance to be featured.
