Clarington July 17, 2020/- The Municipality of Clarington is pleased to announce that we will be reopening our Orono outdoor pool as of July 24 with strict physical distancing and capacity limits. The pool will reopen seven days a week with pre-registered swim sessions lasting an hour each. A maximum of 20 swimmers will be allowed at each session.
“With the recent heatwave, we know our residents are eager to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water outdoors. The Orono pool passed a Durham Health inspection with flying colours. Our COVID-19 safety measures are robust, and residents will have to follow all the rules of use,” said George Acorn, Director of Community Services.
The start of each public swim session will be staggered to allow staff to clean and disinfect between users. The pool will be open Monday to Friday from noon to 7:15 p.m. While on Saturdays and Sundays the hours will be noon to 4:45 p.m.
