Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipalities of Durham and York announce the launch of the new Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) website DurhamYorkWaste.ca.
This new and intuitive website aims to help residents and stakeholders learn more about the DYEC. Residents can now easily search the website for information from their smartphones or computer.
The website features virtual tours, real time air emissions data, electricity generation information, event calendars, a user-friendly search bar on the home page and information on the facility. Residents are encouraged to take a tour of the site and provide feedback.
Residents will have the opportunity to learn about DYEC as a waste management facility that produces energy from the combustion of garbage. The DYEC safely processes 140,000 tonnes per year of the residential garbage in Durham and York Regions that remains after maximizing other waste diversion programs, such as reducing, reusing, recycling and composting.
