Clarington, Ontario – Start your summer with Clarington’s recreation programs. Summer registration begins on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 7 a.m. for various popular programs, including camps, swimming lessons, first aid leadership programs, aquafit, outdoor fitness, and more. The Orono outdoor pool will open for the weekend of June 19 and 20.
“We are happy to offer a variety of summer programs to residents. We have some fun and exciting things to offer all age groups, and we’re confident that our COVID-19 safety protocols will keep both staff and residents safe,” said Steve Myers, Recreation Services Manager.
Here are some key dates to circle on your calendars:
The Orono outdoor pool will be open for the June 19 weekend only. The pool will then close briefly and reopen for public use on June 26 for the rest of the summer. Bookings will start each Wednesday for the following week. The pool will reopen seven days a week, with pre-registered one-hour swim sessions. A maximum of 20 swimmers will be allowed at each session.
We have robust COVID-19 safety measures in place. Swim session start times will be staggered to allow staff to clean and disinfect between users. The pool will be open Monday to Friday from noon to 7:15 p.m., while on Saturdays and Sundays, the hours will be noon to 4:45 p.m.
