If you’re looking for a caffeine fix, head to Deadly Grounds Café in Courtice. This horror movie-themed café sells Deadly Grounds Canada coffee by the bag and refreshing coffee drinks, like iced caramel mochas and iced cortados – ideal on a hot summer day. If coffee isn’t your thing, they also have a great selection of teas and tea-based drinks. A new addition to the Courtice coffee scene is Greenwood Café and Roaster, located at Critical Hit Gaming Lounge on Highway 2. Enjoy a coffee (hot or iced) outside on their patio next to a wooded conservation area—a perfect place to spend a sunny summer afternoon.

Sundae Funday is quickly becoming known as ‘the spot’ in Clarington for vegan soft serve. Try their colourful flavours, like lime and cherry (get it swirled for a mix of tart and sweet) in a cone or cup. They also offer made-in-Ontario handcrafted ice cream by Belly Ice Cream Company in various delicious, creamy flavours, like key lime pie and Muskoka s’mores. Constructed in 1840, The Enniskillen General Store is one of Canada’s oldest stores. Known for their giant Kawartha Dairy ice cream cones and sundaes, this is a must-stop location on your Clarington sweet treat trip. Along with ice cream, they also sell unique gift items, candies, and pantry items.
