Christmas tree farm

Clarington is home to an abundance of farmland and rich agricultural history. Take a day trip to pick fresh strawberries or blueberries, shop the local harvest at one of our farmer’s markets, visit a pumpkin patch, or take a wagon ride through the fields at a family-run farm. Farms are open seasonally, so call ahead or check their websites for hours and dates.

Algoma Orchards and Gourmet Market 
Located in Newcastle, the Gibson and Kemp families have been growing apples for over 100 years. A Clarington favourite for residents and visitors alike, Algoma Orchards produces and sells apple juice and cider, and their crop includes a variety of apples, such as Gala and Honeycrisp. Their gourmet market is full of local food – be sure to come hungry and stay for a deli sandwich on freshly-baked bread.

Allin's Orchard
In the fall, make a stop at Allin’s Orchard. This family-run orchard in Newcastle produces 26 varieties of apples along with a bounty of other fruits and vegetables. You can’t leave without trying one (or more) of their famous candy apples!

Archibald's Orchards & Estate Winery
This fourth-generation family-owned business sits on a 40-acre Bowmanville property and is an ideal orchard to explore with family and friends. Enjoy orchard tours, wine and cider tasting, apple picking and fun seasonal events. The orchard opens for apple picking on September 12.

Fred's Fruit Market
Nestled along Highway 35/115 in Orono, Fred's Fruit Market welcomes you to explore fresh, local produce. Everything is grown in their fields or by local farmers.

Gallery on the Farm
Since 1929, four generations of the Bowman family have farmed the land at Gallery on the Farm, located in Enniskillen. They raise and sell pasture-raised organic beef as well as locally produced cheese and other handmade products. Plus, their art gallery features paintings by Eric Bowman and works by other local artists.

Geissberger Farmhouse Cider
Located in Hampton (just north of Courtice), Geissberger Farmhouse Cider has been making sweet apple cider since 1970. Their cider is made only from apples grown in the Durham Region, never from concentrate.

Hope's Christmas Tree Farm 
Enjoy old-time Christmas country charm at Hope's this holiday season. Cut-your-own tree or choose from pre-cut White Spruce, Balsam Fir or Fraser Fir.

Knox's Pumpkin Farm
Come for the pumpkins and stay for the fun at this fourth-generation family farm located in the rolling hills of Hampton. Knox's Pumpkin Farm is open seasonally (daily from the end of September to Halloween and weekends from the end of November to December 23), and popular activities include wagon rides, pumpkin picking, a corn maze, face painting and more.

Maple Grove Orchards
Maple Grove Orchards is opening their farm gates on September 4 as Clarington's newest pick-your-own orchard. With your favourite varieties available, the farm also offers pre-order and pick-up for your safety and convenience. Closed for the season.

Peel Family Farm
Since 1806, Peel Family Farm in Newtonville has been operating as an organic, free-range family farm. The farm offers beef, pork, and full chickens as well as eggs by the dozen. Beef, chickens, and eggs are available year-round.

Pingle's Farm Market
For over 30 years, the Pingle family has operated Pingle’s Farm Market in Hampton, just north of Courtice. Chosen as one of the best pumpkin patches in Ontario by Narcitycome in the fall to experience the famous giant corn maze, wagon rides, pumpkin and apple picking, and so much more. Stop in at the farm market to load up on fresh baked goods, local produce and handmade fudge.

Powell's Tree Farm
Make festive holiday traditions in Clarington. In November and December, travel the rural roads just north of Bowmanville to Powell's Tree Farm. Harvest your own or select from pre-cut trees, including Scotch pine, spruce, Balsam fir, and Fraser fir. The farm is open from the middle of November to December 24.

Prestonvale Tree Farms
Experience the magic of the holiday season at Prestonvale Tree Farms in Courtice. Head out with the family to harvest your tree from a selection of quality Fraser firs, Balsam firs, spruce and pines.

Second Season Farm
Located in Newcastle, Second Season Farm produces seasonal vegetables, garlic, perennial vegetables, nuts and fruits. Available at the Clarington Farmer’s Market or by appointment and through the Bowmanville REKO Network on Facebook.

Snowden Farms
Located in Enniskillen, this family-run farm raises cows the all-natural, old-fashioned way. Their products are available on their website and seasonally at the Clarington Farmer’s Market.

Tallboots Farm
Nestled in the countryside just south of Newtonville, Tallboots Farm has vast berry patches, perfect for a pick your own experience. They also offer Christmas trees during the holiday season. You can find their delicious jams, preserves and jellies on their website and at various stores and farmer’s markets throughout the Durham Region and Toronto.

Watson Farms Ltd.
This Bowmanville market is open seven days a week (seasonally) and sells the freshest vegetables, fruit, cheese and more. There is also a playground with their famous huge slide for the kids.

Wilmot Orchards
Operating seasonally as a blueberry farm since 1983, Wilmot Orchards overlooks the waters of Lake Ontario between Bowmanville and Newcastle. While you’re there, take a seat on the patio at the AppleBerries Café, where you can indulge in fresh blueberry treats and have a fantastic view of the fields. Wilmot Orchards is worth the seasonal wait. Closed for the season.
