We want to make our community accessible to everyone. We have set out a plan and set up a committee to make sure we reach that goal.

Clarington works hard to follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 (AODA). We strive to provide accessible programs, services and resources to all of our residents.

We have put in place a Customer Service policy that Council adopted in December 2009 and was updated in 2017. Our staff is friendly and always willing to help. If you need an alternate accessible version of any document, please contact us and we will be happy to work with you to get you what you need.

Fill out our feedback form (on the right-hand side of the website) to let us know if you have any concerns, suggestions or compliments.

Our Plan

We have also put together a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (PDF). It shows all the steps we are taking to remove existing barriers for people with disabilities. We want to make sure we are following the legislation. Each year we will post a status report so you can check on our progress to see how far we have come. We set out timelines to follow so we can be fully accessible.

We have established an Accessibility Advisory Committee made up of members of the community to help identify and remove any accessibility barriers.
