Tax certificates

A tax certificate is a legal document typically purchased by lawyers or financial institutions that shows the annual taxes and any current or prior year arrears on a given property.

Tax certificate are available for a fee of $65. Rush tax certificates are available for a fee $75. Please pay by cheque made payable to: Municipality of Clarington

Verbal tax information

For all new tax certificate requests, verbal information will not be provided. A rush tax certificate can be requested and will be issued within 24 to 48 hours. Verbal updates will be provided only for printed tax certificates up to 90 days from the date the tax certificate was issued. If you require additional information after this time, you must purchase a new tax certificate.

Transfer deeds

Transfer deeds are required to process a change of ownership. Please send via email to tax@clarington.net or fax to 905-623-4169.
