In 1977, the Municipality agreed to lease the lands from the Durham Central Agricultural Society and constructed an arena, community centre and grandstand. By-law 78-63 established the Orono Arena Community Centre Board and its responsibilities in the operation of the facility. By-law 2008-036 repeals By-law 78-63 and establishes the entity as a Municipal Service Board.
