Property Assessments

As part of the Ontario Government’s Budget on March 24, the Minister of Finance announced the Province’s decision to once again postpone a provincewide property assessment update due to the pandemic. Property assessments for the 2022 property tax year will continue to be based on January 1, 2016 current values. This means your property assessment for the 2022 property tax year will remain the same as the 2021 tax year, unless there have been changes to your property.

Request for Reconsideration

Property owners have 120 days from the issue date on their Notice of Assessment to file a Request for Reconsideration.

If you disagree with your property's assessed value and/or classification, you have the option to file a Request for Reconsideration with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). The deadline to submit a Request for Reconsideration for each taxation year is printed on your Property Assessment Notice.
