Residents engage with Clarington staff at a public workshop

The Municipality communicates with residents using a variety of different channels to inform the community of new projects and services that taxpayers dollars pay for. In 2017, the Municipality launched its new Engage Clarington platform. This online interactive tool allows residents to ask questions and provide feedback on key initiatives that will help inform Council decisions.

Clarington’s robust news section, found on the website, has up to date news and stories on all major Municipal initiatives, allowing residents to subscribe and get the latest information right in their inbox. The Municipality also runs official corporate social media accounts that provide daily updates and news of interest to residents. Social media allows Clarington to communicate and answer questions and concerns from the community in a timely fashion.

The Municipality is always reviewing its services to ensure that we provide the best level of service to residents. In 2017, Clarington started a formal service delivery review process. Both the Animal Shelter Services and Tourism have gone through the process to ensure that these division are operating in a way that is effective and efficient while meeting the needs of residents.
