How do I Vote?

Voting for the Clarington 2026 Municipal Elections will take place electronically by internet and telephone. Clarington voters can cast their votes at their convenience, from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Voter information letters

If your name is on the voters’ list, you will receive a voter information letter by mail in early October 2026. The letter will provide detailed instructions on how to vote during the Voting Period (October 20 to 26) and will list the available Election Assistance Centres.

If you do not receive a voter information letter, you may not be on the voters’ list. Contact the Municipal Clerk’s Division to add your name to the list. If you find errors on the voters’ list or your voter information letter, correct them online or contact the Clerk’s Division to find out how you can make corrections.

Applications for all revisions, except removal of another person’s name, may be completed at the Municipal Administrative Centre, Clerk’s Division, from September 1 to October 26, 2026, during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 8 p.m. on October 26) or at an Election Assistance Centre in Clarington.

Voter identification at Election Assistance Centres

If you need to add your name to the voters’ list and you haven’t already done so online, remember to bring valid identification to an Election Assistance Centre. You are required to show proof of your identity and residence or complete a Declaration of Identity declaring that you are the elector shown on the voters’ list.
