As construction resumes on Phase 2A of the Farewell Creek Trail extension, we remind residents to keep out of the construction area. For your safety and the safety of the workers, trail users must respect the fenced limits of the construction area. Do not remove any barriers to access the area. Construction machinery, open excavations, material stockpiles, and rough terrain are all safety hazards to trail users and may cause injury or harm.

Work has begun on various roads in Courtice, Bowmanville and Newcastle to seal pavement cracks with a flexible rubberized sealer to extend the life of our roads. This work is important and helps to minimize the amount of moisture getting under the pavement surface and slows the deterioration of the road surface, helping to prevent future potholes and heaves.

Beginning June 1, Clarington will start making repairs to the maintenance holes and catch basins across the Municipality as part of an annual maintenance program. Crews will be out on the roads for approximately six weeks, ensuring our maintenance holes and catch basins are level with the road surface so motorists can enjoy a safe, smooth drive. Repairs will take place at various locations in Courtice, Bowmanville, and Newcastle, Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
