Road Closures and Traffic Disruptions

Argyle Street and Duke Street will close from Ontario Street to Durham Street on July 11 to 13, for water and sanitary pipe servicing. Detours will be available via alternate local roads.

Effective immediately, Flett Street is closed from Parkway Crescent to Southway Drive until September 30, 2022, for road reconstruction. Detours are available via local alternative routes.

Mearns Avenue North will close from Bethesda Road to Concession Road 4 from June 23 to 25, 2022, for filming in the area. Detours will be available via local alternative roads.

The work plan, timing and schedule for this project and ramp closures are determined by the Ministry of Transportation. The Municipality of Clarington is sharing this important information with residents. We will issue updates when we receive them from the MTO.

The Municipality of Clarington is reconstructing Parkway Avenue between Parkway Crescent and Flett Street, from Parkway Crescent to Southway Drive, in Bowmanville. The existing pavement and storm sewer on each road has reached the end of its service life and needs replacing.

Reconstruction work is scheduled to begin the week of June 27, 2022, and is anticipated to be completed by September 2022. Every effort will be made to complete the construction work before the beginning of the school year.
