Construction notice: 2025 sidewalk repair project

Work is underway to repair cracked, uneven and damaged sidewalks and curbs across Clarington as part of our annual sidewalk maintenance program. The work is expected to be completed by October 2025.

This important work involves lifting or removing and replacing over 540 sidewalk bays (individual sidewalk sections) and short lengths of curb.

Construction Notice: Upcoming pavement rehabilitation work in Courtice and Bowmanville

Please be advised that beginning in the fall of 2025, D. Crupi & Sons Limited will begin the rehabilitation of various roadways across Clarington.

The rehabilitation works will include the removal and replacement of surface asphalt and base asphalt (where applicable), the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks and curbs, asphalt paving, traffic line painting, the reinstatement of roadway shoulders (where applicable), ditching, and associated restoration works.

George Street West and East Road Reconstruction and Watermain Replacement

Beginning the week of June 23, 2025, reconstruction will begin on George Street West (from North Street to Manvers Road) and George Street East (from Mill Street North to Beaver Street North) in Newcastle. From May to September 2025, crews will begin construction to improve the surface of several roads in Clarington. The work includes drainage improvements, asphalt reclamation, grading, resurfacing and slurry seal. Road closure on Liberty Street North in Bowmanville

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Liberty Street North (Regional Road 14) in Bowmanville.

When: April 28 to July 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Where: Liberty Street North, from Pamela Court to Sydel Court, in the community of Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.
