South Courtice Arena tennis courts to close for surface treatment repairs

The South Courtice Arena tennis courts will be closed for court and surface treatment repairs on Monday, September 9 (weather permitting).

The courts will be closed for approximately one day to complete the work.

Tennis courts remain open at Avondale Park, Green Park, Guildwood Park, Lions Parkette, Newcastle Community Park, Orono Park and Solina Park. View our park listings to learn more.

Camp 30 Trail closed effective immediately until further notice

Due to unsafe conditions, the Camp 30 Trail at Lambs Road and Concession Street East in Bowmanville is closed immediately until further notice.

Timing for reopening is pending and will be based on an assessment and evaluation of necessary repairs for a culvert (also known as a tunnel under the road), which allows water to flow below the path.

• Recreation facilities will be open during regularly scheduled hours. Programs will take place as scheduled. Visit www.clarington.net/Drop-In to view our drop-in activities.
• Clarington Animal Shelter will be open for regular hours.

Monday, September 2

• Orono Park Pool will be open for a Public Swim from noon to 5 p.m.
• The Municipal Administrative Centre, Clarington Animal Shelter and all recreation facilities will be closed.

Update: Clarington is transforming Veterans' Square this summer

Update August 13, 2024: Please be advised that beginning August 14, 2024, the east doors (Temperance Street entrance) at Town Hall will be closed for approximately three weeks as we move to the next phase of construction of Veterans’ Square.

Visitors to Town Hall can access the building through the north doors off Church Street or enter through the Bowmanville Library during operating hours. The accessibility ramp will remain open for use.

Notice of Construction at Soper Creek Trail

Beginning the week of August 12, 2024, crews will begin the next phase of construction on the Soper Creek trail to continue the three-metre-wide paved asphalt trail out to Cotton Street. The work will also include the installation of a retaining wall, signage, amenities and restorative landscaping.

What are the impacts?
