Courtice Fitness Training Centre closing early on July 4 for equipment reorganization

The Courtice Fitness Training Centre will be closing early on Friday, July 4 while we reshuffle the equipment to make room for more equipment.

The Training Centre will close at noon on July 4 and reopen at 7 a.m. on July 5 while we remove old equipment and make room for new equipment.New equipment will arrive Tuesday, July 8. Gym users may notice periods of noise while new equipment is assembled and installed.

Solina Park Tennis Courts close July 2 for major upgrades

Heads up, tennis fans! Starting July 2, 2025, the tennis courts at Solina Park (1964 Concession Road 6) will be temporarily closed while we get to work on some exciting upgrades.

The courts are expected to reopen in fall 2025.

What's Open and Closed on Canada Day, July 1, 2025

Tuesday, July 1

• Diane Hamre Recreation Complex and Orono Park Pool will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Check our drop-in swimming schedule for Canada Day swim times.
• Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex Hall and washrooms will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. for Canada Day celebrations. The remainder of the facility will remain closed, and regular programs will be cancelled.
• The Municipal Administrative Centre, Clarington Animal Shelter, and all other recreation facilities will be closed.

Section of the Waterfront Trail in Bowmanville closed for trail rehabilitation

A section of the Waterfront Trail in Bowmanville is closed for trail rehabilitation.

The asphalt will be replaced from Bowmanville Avenue to 50 metres west of Bowmanville Avenue. The work started on June 19 and is expected to take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Final phase of Town Hall roof replacement begins May 25

Starting May 25, 2025, work begins on the final phase of the roof replacement at the Municipal Administrative Centre, 40 Temperance Street, in Bowmanville. Construction crews will be on-site Monday to Saturday throughout the summer completing work on the west section of the roof.

During this time, residents and visitors may experience noise, dust, and intermittent disruptions, and we’ll make every effort to minimize the impact on the surrounding area.
