As an essential service provider and a community leader, Clarington supports the Provincial direction to ensure that people leave their homes for essential reasons as outlined in the Provincial order.

The Province of Ontario has issued a stay-at-home order and declared a second state of emergency, in addition to further restrictions and enforcement to the current province-wide shutdown.
When:
The stay-at-home order goes into effect on Thursday, January 14 at 12:01 a.m. The state of emergency is effective immediately and will be reevaluated in 28 days. New restrictions and enforcement measures will be put in place between January 12 and 14.

Investment will help Lakeridge Health deliver better patient-centered care
As part of its comprehensive plan to end hallway health care, the Ontario government is investing $2.5 million to support the redevelopment of Lakeridge Health's hospital site in Bowmanville. This funding will be used to offset the costs of planning the renewal and expansion of the hospital's infrastructure.

In response to the Provincewide Shutdown announced in late December, Clarington Public Library is pleased to offer Take-Out Service at all four branch locations.
Though in-branch services, including computer access, are currently suspended, members can still place holds on physical items for contactless pickup and access the Library’s eCollection of eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines, eNewspapers, and research eResources 24/7.
