Clarington, Ontario – To protect our environment, Clarington has launched the eco-friendly 4Rs initiative in our facilities to reduce, reuse, recycle and recover waste.
This fully accessible initiative will see a three-stream waste system in facilities with bins accepting garbage waste, mixed recyclables, and organic compost. The bins in the lobby areas are also equipped with tactile raised vinyl mats in front of each one to assist visually impaired residents in picking the correct form of disposal.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department is urging anyone who attended the 43rd Annual Jane and Finch Classic basketball tournament, held at the Playground Global facility, 1313 Boundary Road, Oshawa, from Aug. 3 to 8, to get tested as soon as possible. Whitby, Ontario - Durham Region Health Department is updating eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to include third doses for individuals most at-risk of serious illness from the virus. Whitby, Ontario – Effective August 14, Durham Region Health Department will begin winding down local COVID-19 vaccine mass immunization clinics, giving community members a few more weeks to get their first or second dose at one of these clinics.
