Inclusion and camp integration

We welcome children of all abilities to our day camp programs. If your child needs extra support for a special need, please call our camp hotline at 905-435-1061 ext. 2565 after registering your child.

Extra support (1:1 to 1:3) at camp may be provided based on the following criteria:

  • A physical, developmental and/or learning disability exists, affecting mobility, communication, comprehension and/or interaction.
  • Extra support/assistance is needed at home for basic care such as dressing or toileting.
  • Extra support is required at school.

To help your child have a successful experience at camp, parents must complete a camper skills checklist (PDF) before the start of camp.

Families who fail to disclose the needs of their child before registration may have to withdraw from the program. Clarington's refund policy will apply.

Support staff/volunteers are available to Clarington residents only.

Personal Support Workers are welcome to attend our recreation programs to assist your child. Learn more about providing personal support.
