Be careful around Clarington’s stormwater management ponds

Clarington’s stormwater management ponds help collect stormwater run-off from rainfall, or from melting snow and ice, and gives nature time to filter the water. The ponds are not intended for recreational use. Water levels may change rapidly—for your safety, do not enter the pond.

Stormwater management ponds can also serve as wildlife habitats. Feeding wildlife is prohibited in these areas.

Feeding wildlife can encourage animals to become more bold or likely to approach humans. It can discourage animals from foraging for their natural food sources and make it easier for diseases to spread.
