Clarington creates roadmap for a dynamic future with its new Strategic Plan and Multi-Year Budget

Clarington is implementing its vision for growth and prosperity with a new Strategic Plan and Multi-Year Budget. Together, these two foundational plans enable Clarington to support its residents, businesses and communities to make the most of the opportunities of a growing and modernizing municipality.

The 2024-27 Clarington Strategic Plan is a future-ready and forward-thinking plan of action that outlines the Municipality of Clarington’s priorities for the next four years. It is the product of extensive community engagement; and designed to be reflective of Council and the community’s collective aspirations. The Strategic Plan was approved by Council on December 4, 2023.

A Plan for Growth: Clarington's 2024-27 Budget supports the delivery of the Strategic Plan while giving Clarington residents and businesses the stability and predictability they need to plan for their future with confidence. The Budget includes a net levy increase of 4.2 per cent, on average, per year from 2024 to 2027. That would typically result in an increase of about $67 per year for Clarington’s portion of an average household’s property tax bill. The budget was deemed adopted on December 5, 2023.

“The plan we’ve made for Clarington belongs to the community; belongs to all of us. Thousands of residents participated in the public engagement for our strategic plan. The issues they raised shaped the priorities for our first multi-year municipal budget. I am so proud of the collaboration that has gone into creating this path that will support and enhance the amazing quality of life we enjoy in our community, now and into the future,” said Mayor Adrian Foster.

Together, the Strategic Plan and Multi-Year Budget will help guide Clarington forward. They set the course for the Municipality to responsibly navigate growth, maintain and enhance the high quality of life for residents today and in the future, and deliver exceptional municipal services.
