Clarington Emergency and Fire Services lifts burn ban

As of noon on August 20, 2025, Clarington Emergency and Fire Services has lifted the burn ban.

We remind residents that while the burn ban has been lifted, everyone must continue to follow Clarington's Open-Air Burning By-law. To learn more about the rules, get safety tips, or apply for a permit visit, www.clarington.net/OpenAirBurning.

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Clarington Emergency and Fire Services issued a burn ban for all of Clarington due to extremely dry conditions and poor air quality.

The burn ban prohibits all types of burning, including burning on properties with active burn permits and recreational fires.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
