Clarington to begin road and infrastructure improvements on several streets in Bowmanville

Starting Monday, May 6, 2024, the Municipality of Clarington will begin work to improve the roads and infrastructure on Brown Street, Albert Street, and Victoria Street in Bowmanville.

The work is expected to be completed by September 2024, and includes:

• Local storm sewer installation
• Local watermain replacement, including water services
• Removal of existing road asphalt and road base
• Subdrain installation
• Construction of new road base
• Curb and gutter installation
• Driveway apron reinstatement
• Concrete sidewalk improvements
• Base asphalt placement
• Landscape restoration and tree protection/planting

The following roads will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the work:

• Brown Street, from Queen Street to Victoria Street
• Victoria Street, from Liberty Street to Ontario Street
• Albert Street, from Liberty Street to Brown Street

Access to properties for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be maintained for residents, except for very short periods. During construction, a temporary water supply system will be in place for affected homes. Crews will ensure waste collection and mail delivery services are uninterrupted.
