Lives lost, voices raised: Confronting the rise in intimate partner violence

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is claiming more lives in our community than ever before. Behind each statistic is a person, a family, and a preventable tragedy.

Join us at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex on December 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., as we unpack the root causes of this deadly trend, and—more importantly—offer pathways for community members to ask questions, get support, and be part of the solution.

This community-centred event features:

• Keynote speaker Riley Spigarelli, Bethesda House Executive Director
• Discussion panel made up of local leaders, advocates, and experts from Bethesda House, Durham Regional Police Services, Victim Witness Assistance Program, Safety Network Durham, Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services, and Women's Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre.
  
• Information booths from community partners
• On-site therapist from Durham Family Services
• Light refreshments
• Free drop-in recreation programming available for children ages 2.5 years and up

To support this event, Clarington is offering a free drop-in recreation program for children ages 2.5 years and up, while their parent or caregiver attends the community conversation. Space is limited.
