Road resurfacing and drainage improvement work to begin next week on Clarington’s roads

From May to September 2025, crews will begin construction to improve the surface of several roads in Clarington. The work includes drainage improvements, asphalt reclamation, grading, resurfacing and slurry seal. Motorists may experience temporary lane closures, short-term road closures and delays on the affected roads.

Please note timelines are approximate and will vary depending on weather and other factors. Crews will ensure waste collection and mail delivery won’t be interrupted.

Surface improvement work will affect the following roads:

Brownsville Court from Brownsville Road to the east end (160 metres)
Brownsville Road from Highway 2 to the south end turnaround (670 metres)
Brownsville Road from Durham Highway 2 to the north end (1,220 metres)
Browview Road from Durham Highway 2 to the east end (300 metres)
Carscadden Road from Concession Road 8 to the north end (1,000 metres)
Concession Road 10 from Highway 35 to the east end turnaround (810 metres)
Crego Road from Osborne Road to Megawatt Drive (890 metres)
Gilmore Road from Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6 (2,010 metres)
Grasshopper Park Road from Nelson Lane to the northern limit of Haydon (590 metres)
Maynard Road from Concession Road 8 to the north end (660 metres)
Middle Road from Concession Road 6 to Concession Road 7 (2,070 metres)
Old Mill Street from Kendal Church Street to the west end (130 metres)
Solina Road from 150 metres north of Dorset Street to Concession Road 7 (990 metres)
Thertell Road from Langstaff Road to Cold Springs Camp Road (1,810 metres)

In addition to the surface improvement work above, the following rural roads will receive a slurry seal treatment to improve the surface and extend the lifespan of the road:

Concession Road 6 from Newtonville Road to Shiloh Road (1,550 metres)
Cooney Road from Ganaraska Road to Concession Road 8 (1,960 metres)
Jewel Road from Concession Road 6 to the south end (1,030 metres)
Jewel Road from Concession Road 6 to Ganaraska Road (2,160 metres)
Langmaid Road from Concession Road 7 to Durham Regional Road 3 (1,970 metres)
Middle Road from Concession Road 7 to Concession Road 8 (1,980 metres)
Middle Road from Concession Road 8 to Durham Regional Road 20 (2,060 metres)
Old Scugog Road from Salter Court to Concession Road 9 (1,430 metres)
Ovens Road from Highway 2 to the south end turnaround (630 metres)
Vickers Road from Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6 (2,270 metres)
Reid Road from Highway 2 to 1 kilometre north (1,000 metres)
Leask Road from Concession Road 6 to the north end (150 metres)
Tamblyn Road from Highway 35/115 to 454 metres north of Highway 35/115 (450 metres)
