Clarington, Ontario – As we raised the flag for Transgender Day of Remembrance, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.
“Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day that honours the memory of Trans, Non-Binary, 2-Spirit, and gender diverse people we have lost to anti-transgender violence. This is a day to stand together against the intolerance and violence faced by Transgender members of our community. We are committed to educating ourselves, building awareness, and creating safe spaces for everyone. Hate and intolerance have no place in Clarington. We are a community made stronger by the inclusion and diversity of all our residents.”
