Sunshine, smiles, and splash pad fun: Middle Park grand opening brings the community together

On June 14, residents of Bowmanville’s Northglen community came together under sunny skies to celebrate the grand opening of Middle Park—a vibrant new neighbourhood space designed for play, connection, and summer fun.

"This new park is such a perfect way to say, ‘Welcome home!’ to the many new families living in north Bowmanville. With the neighbourhood growing so quickly, it feels special to create a space where kids can laugh in the splash pad, parents can unwind on a bench, and neighbours can connect at their local park," said Mayor Adrian Foster.

Families enjoyed a variety of free, family-friendly activities, including games, freezies, and a playful scavenger hunt that encouraged children to explore the park’s new features—from the playground and softball diamond to the paved walkways and shaded seating areas.

The highlight of the day came just after noon, when Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster invited the children to help officially kick off the summer season by pressing the “magic button” to activate the splash pad for the very first time!

The event was a true celebration of community spirit, with neighbours gathering to enjoy the sunshine, make memories, and mark the beginning of a new chapter for outdoor fun in Bowmanville.

Middle Park features an all-new playground, paved walkways, shade structure, softball diamond and splash pad.
